  • Process Improvement in Georgia's Rural HospitalsQuality Digest:  Georgia rural hospitals that face growing financial pressures are receiving assistance from a new Georgia Institute of Technology pilot project that is helping them improve processes and reduce waste.  Supported by the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, the initiative will help the seven rural hospitals increase capacity, improve service quality and cut costs.

  • ED Team Goes"Back to School”ED Management: Before it could successfully implement a lean process change that it calls TAPP (Team Assessment Pull Process), the ED leadership in the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta system had to be educated in the process.  The need for this education was clear, recalls Marianne Hatfield, RN, BSN, CENP, system director of emergency services.  (March 2008 issue; pages 32-33).
