Entrepreneur Services - Overview

Entrepreneurs play a vital role in driving today's economy. Georgia Tech's Enterprise Innovation Institute supports the state's entrepreneurs through a comprehensive set of assistance programs.

The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) is a nationally recognized science and technology incubator that helps Georgia entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies. ATDC provides strategic business advice and connects its member companies to the people and resources they need to succeed. More than 100 companies have emerged from the ATDC, including publicly traded firms such as MindSpring Enterprises – now part of EarthLink. ATDC has been recognized by both Inc. and BusinessWeek as one of the nation's top incubator programs.

The SBIR Assistance Program for the State of Georgia helps companies utilize the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program to obtain funding for research and development activities. Program specialists help companies determine if the SBIR program is right for them, and learn how to prepare a winning proposal.

The Georgia Statewide Minority Business Enterprise Center provides business and technical assistance that helps emerging and existing minority businesses experience significant growth and sustainability, and have long-term economic impact through the creation of jobs and revenue.

The Centers of Innovation Program provides support to entrepreneurs and researchers in the areas of aerospace, agriculture, life sciences, robotics manufacturing and maritime logistics. Each center creates an environment for connecting with state leaders, academic and business experts and government organizations to nurture ideas and forge new relationships.
