The 2008 Georgia Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing

“Recognizing Manufacturing Excellence in the State of Georgia ”

May 5-9, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia

The Georgia Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing recognizes companies and plants located in Georgia that have demonstrated achievements in manufacturing and business processes such as implementation of lean principles leading to outstanding quality and business results. The Georgia Shingo Prize may be awarded to any qualifying manufacturer in existence three or more years, and located and operated in Georgia . Companies of all sizes are invited to apply. Prizes will be presented at the annual Georgia Shingo Prize Conference and Awards Banquet.

The Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute is the state administrator for the Georgia Shingo Prize and will help manufacturers throughout Georgia benefit from the Georgia Shingo Prize by:

Increasing awareness of world-class manufacturing practices and techniques.
Enhancing their competitive position in the global marketplace.
Fostering understanding and an open forum of how past Shingo recipients benefited from the recognition and facilitate lessons learned.
Annually recognizing manufacturers in Georgia that demonstrate excellence in strategies and practices to achieve results.

Application for the prize takes three steps:

1. Submit Intent to Apply Form	Deadline: November 16, 2007
2. Prepare and Submit the Achievement Report	Deadline: December 17, 2007
3. Notification of Award Winner(s)	Notification: April 17, 2008
